James Suckling latest reviews – Giugno 2018

James Suckling, rassegna stampa Giugno 2018: SELVAPIANA CHIANTI RUFINA VIGNETO BUCERCHIALE RISERVA 2013 - 94PTS. This is a deliciously decadent Chianti Rufina with aromas and flavors of berries, cherries, wet leaves and coffee. Full body, chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. Drink now or hold. SELVAPIANA CHIANTI RUFINA 2015 - 93PTS. Aromas of cherries, flowers and and fresh herbs following through to a full body. Tight, linear and fresh. Firm and focused. A real Tuscan wine. Drink or hold. SELVAPIANA TOSCANA FORNACE 2012 - 93PTS. Rich and ripe, yet fresh and tannic. This is rather concentrated and more importantly, beautifully balanced. The cocoa-powder character extends right through the wine. A long and elegant finish. Drink or hold. SELVAPIANA POMINO VILLA PETROGNANO 2013 - 90PTS. Dark leafy notes with earthy accents too. There's a spicy thread of dark plums and blackberries, leading to a savory and slightly meaty palate. Some chew through the finish. Drink or hold. Download PDF

Selvapiana Fornace 2012, ultima recensione di Wine Spectator

SELVAPIANA – Toscana Fornace 2012 94 points | $30 | 150 cases imported | Red This is settling in nicely, showing fine texture and balance, with black currant, cedar, mineral and spice flavors taking on the character of a maturing Bordeaux, yet this remains slightly wild and earthy, offering hints of licorice and tar on the long aftertaste. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2027. From Italy. — B.S.
